Terms of Service
Last updated: May 23, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a Bonnie account or using the Bonnie service ("Bonnie," "we," "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use Bonnie.
2. What Bonnie is — and what it isn't
Bonnie is bookkeeping software. It helps small business owners organize source documents, draft a chart of accounts, propose categorizations, and produce financial statements like profit-and-loss reports.
Bonnie is not a CPA, a tax preparer, a financial advisor, an attorney, or an auditor. Nothing Bonnie produces is professional advice. Bonnie can help you keep your books organized, but you are responsible for reviewing the books before relying on them, and for engaging qualified professionals for any matters that require licensed expertise.
3. Account eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use Bonnie. You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up and to keep your account information current. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including keeping your password safe.
4. Subscription and billing
Bonnie is offered on a subscription basis. Current plans are shown on the pricing page. As of the last-updated date above, plans include a monthly subscription at $25/month and an annual subscription at $250/year (about $20.83 per month, billed up-front for the year), each preceded by a 30-day free trial. An optional one-time Plaid catch-up add-on may be offered during onboarding for historical transaction backfill.
We use Stripe to process payments. You authorize us — through Stripe — to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and we do not refund partial periods unless required by law. Prices and plan structure may change; if they do, we'll give you reasonable notice before any change affects your subscription.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Bonnie to do anything illegal, abusive, or harmful. Specifically, don't:
- Use Bonnie to launder funds, commit fraud, or evade obligations to creditors or counterparties.
- Upload content you don't have the right to upload.
- Try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with Bonnie's operation or security.
- Use Bonnie to provide bookkeeping or advisory services to third parties without our written agreement.
- Impersonate someone else or misrepresent your business identity.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Your data and ownership
You own your business data. We act as a processor: we store and operate on the data you give us in order to provide the Bonnie service. We don't sell your data, and we don't use the content of your books to train external AI models or to market unrelated services. Our data handling is described in more detail in our Privacy Policy.
You can export your data at any time from your account, and you can request deletion by writing to [email protected].
7. Third-party services we rely on
Bonnie integrates with a small set of third-party services to operate — bank-and-card connectivity, payment processing, transactional email, AI providers, and our cloud hosting provider. Your use of Bonnie includes interactions with these services, each governed by its own terms and privacy policy. The current list of subprocessors and what each one handles is maintained in our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers
Bonnie is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. We don't guarantee that any categorization, calculation, or statement produced by Bonnie is correct — you are responsible for reviewing your books before relying on them, sharing them with anyone, or making financial decisions based on them. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bonnie and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Bonnie. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to Bonnie is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You can stop using Bonnie at any time and close your account from within the app or by writing to [email protected]. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if your continued use poses a risk to us or to other users, or if we are required to do so by law. On termination, sections that by their nature should survive (data ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, give you notice in the app or by email. Your continued use of Bonnie after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
